The operating room is a work setting in which you could contribute to saving lives on a daily basis. As surgeons operate on their patients, they rely on the support of a strong team that is comfortable in intense situations. With your knowledge of the human body and your meticulous attention to detail, you can make your mark in the healthcare industry.
Through Anthem Institute's Surgical Technologist program, you can learn more about subjects such as:
- Human anatomy and physiology
- Surgical skills
- Laboratory procedures
- CPR
- Sterilization and surgical instrument set-ups
- Surgical equipment and supplies
- Patient preparation
After you learn about these subjects in the classroom, you will have the opportunity to practice your new skills in a real-world setting through our organized externship.
Upon graduation, you will be qualified to sit for the NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing) TECH in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) NCCT Certification Examination. As a Surgical Technologist graduate, you will be qualified to work in places like hospital operating rooms, surgical centers, delivery rooms and clinics as you make an important contribution to a successful surgical procedure.
